This past week we’ve spent part of our science time learning about ants and mealworms as both species of invertebrate are living in our classroom. We learned about the anatomy and diet of mealworms, and have spent a great deal of time learning about ants and observing them cooperatively make tunnels in our ant farm. Did you know that the mass of all ants on Earth combined is more than the mass of all humans? We have been impressed with how strong, resilient, and coordinated they are!
