2B had been working hard the past couple of weeks of school on Christmas stories for their families. We focused on crafting interesting plots and making our ideas clear to our audience (who were the students’ families). They made the wrapping paper and everything, and were very proud of their creations!

We had a splendid end to our last week of school for the break with a carol sing, board games, and some delectable treats thanks to some very generous parents! This class is such a caring friendly group, and they were their usual selves as they enjoyed playing games together while decked out in their PJs. Merry Christmas!
We are nearing the end of our Science unit on hot and cold temperatures! Some highlights have included baking potatoes to see how materials are altered with temperature changes, comparing the insulation value of different materials, and examining how heat rises. If you’d like to review the outcomes of this unit, you can take a look at the ten outcomes in the slideshow below! The Christmas concert rehearsal earlier today The students from last night’s concert can be very proud of all their work! The singing was beautiful, the acting, impressive, and the whole show went off without a hitch. Mrs. Davies put together a very professional and entertaining concert as usual!
We’ve been doing some critical thinking in Social Studies recently as we’ve been considering criteria for the very best words to describe our three Canadian communities. Our special guest Jess has been deciding which location she’d like to vacation this summer, and so we were giving her succinct information about Iqaluit, Saskatoon, and Meteghan. We decided that words needed to be specific to the community, interesting, and important to that place. With all the recent excitement of Christmas at Millgrove, we’ve also been discussing what Christmas is like across Canada. Take a look at what words we’ve come up with so far!
With winter holidays coming up, the students in 2B got to work making some Christmas ornament art to decorate the hall outside our classroom. We read a story about the significance of Christmas ornaments, and the students painted some wonderful christmas ornaments using paint. They turned out beautifully. You can browse through the photos below to see how lovely they look!
