In Social Studies recently, we have been learning about the past in our different Canadian communities. While focusing on the past in Saskatoon, we discussed the settlers who came to Canada and farmed the land. We viewed artifacts from these immigrants’ journeys and advertisements that were used in Europe to promote immigration, and the students crafted their own ads for people to come to Saskatoon. They made some very convincing arguments, and showed their growing knowledge of the geography, culture, and history of Saskatoon! You can use the links at the bottom of this post to check out some of the resources we viewed this week as we were exploring the past in Saskatoon.
