We also commemorated Orange Shirt Day on Friday to remember and recognize children who were affected by residential schoo's in Canada's past. The students showed great compassion and respect, and we had great conversations about how we can ensure that children are never treated like that again in our country. You can watch the videos below to learn more about Orange Shirt Day and also see some of the adventures of the Royal Family that we paid attention to this past week!
Current events lent themselves well to our Social Studies learning this past week. We've loved watching as Prince William and Princess Kate learned about Canada with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte since we're learning about Canada! The students of 2B made a video with travel advice for the royal family, so stay tuned to watch that when we have permission to post videos of students later this fall! We increased our knowledge of Canada's West Coast and northern territories through this visit, and were proud to have visitors from England appreciate our country's diverse geography and cultures.
