2B spent a lot of time describing and comparing drops of different liquids in Science this week, along with mixing a variety of liquids and solids. We learned about miscible (mixable) sets of liquids and immiscible (unmixable). The students were truly shocked to observe that water and oil are immiscible, and to see what a mess we had on our hands when coffee would not dissolve in water!
