A Dot By Trista A dot may not be a normal dot It could be an eye, it could be art. You can use it for time or a pot It could be a fart, or on a cart. It could be anything to anything Maybe a fairytale, a folktale, ANYTHING! What if it's on you now... Gasp! It's on the page!!! Learn anything with just a dot! It's Springtime By Autumn It's springtime! The cold wind is going And the warm breeze is blowing The sun is now glowing And no more snowing Let's go to the park while the sun is showing Springtime is the the best season to go outside Well knowing that in my batch... It might be warm enough for the chicks to hatch! Rain By Jace The rain is dripping down my nose Filling my boots up And it looks like I'm sad, but I'm not I'm having so much fun jumping from puddle to puddle It's the most fun I've had in years But the rain stops so I stop And I'll have even more fun another day | Forest the Chick By Gabby I sat in the forest lonely, scared, and afraid. I cried for someone to come and help me. I cried for my mama. I waited all night and on a warm Sunday morning a girl came. She picked me up and cuddled me. I didn't care, this was the most loved I'd felt in days. We went ot a small ash tree. I sat in her lap. I got cold so I went into her sweater pocket. We watched the glorious sunrise. I peeped and she looked at me. She gave me a soft smile. She quietly said to me, "I'm gonna name you Forest..." I peeped and I loved the name Forest! I cuddled closer to her. Suddenly a light rain came. We just sat there and the tree blocked the rain from getting us wet. And suddenly a little rain drop landed on my beak. I giggled and she giggled. We watched and listened to the rain. Shequietly whispered to me, "Your name is Forest and mine is Forest." We both had the name Forest. The End My Cousin By Austen My cousin's name is Jace. He is super fast and would probably win a race. He is super smart and super funny And knows how to hop hop hop like a bunny. |
It's national poetry month and we're learning lots about writing poetry in 3B! We've read lots of wonderful and varied poetry, and in our poetry writing we've been learning about how poets write about things that they observe and care about, poets should pay close attention to the world around them and the feelings inside, and poets revise their poems as they write. The students have enjoyed reading their poems to each other, and reading reading poems to our chicks! Coming up in our writing, we'll learn more about language, form, revision, and building poetry anthologies. You can read some of the poems we've been inspired by here and read some of our poems below. Check out Seesaw to read some of your child's poetry!
